We all knew Game of Thronesshowrunners David Benioff and Erotic Vignette | Adult Movies OnlineD.B. Weiss were monsters. But hey, it turns out that they're actually heartlessmonsters.
Remember Ser Pounce? The cute, little "proper fellow" of a Game of Throneskitty that popped up in Season 4 to kill the mood as Margaery Tyrell tried to bond with Tommen Lanni-- ahem, Baratheon?
Yeah, well, the cat's dead.
Via GiphySEE ALSO: Kit Harington kept that Jon Snow crypt statue from the trailer, obviouslyCersei apparently killed him in a horrible moment that was too much for even HBO. Benioff confirmed as much in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly(though we have our doubts about how serious he was).
"Cersei hated the name ‘Ser Pounce’ so much she could not allow him to survive," he said. "So she came up with her most diabolical [execution]. Ser Pounce’s death was so horrible we couldn’t even put it on the air."
Excuse me?
Before you start to despair at the unfair death of a sweet, little kitty, remember: winter is here. The White Walkers are beyond the wall. Death is no longer the end of a long journey, but rather a direct threat that's marching ever-forward to (we think?) kill all humans.
As Mashable's Alexis Nedd pointed out in Slack while we bemoaned this awful turn of events for poor Ser Pounce: "I'd be into seeing a wight Ser Pounce taking down Cersei with one chilly bite."
