If you hadn't figured it out from The Busty Cops on Patrol (2009)Guest, Dan Stevens is about as far from Downton Abbeyas can be.
Stevens stars in FX's upcoming sci-fi drama Legion, and it's densely packed with action, effects and mind-bending visuals -- the opposite, in every way, from his most famous TV role.

Legionexists in the same universe as X-Men, where the human race is "evolving," manifesting new powers and abilities. Stevens plays David Haller, a mutant mistakenly placed in a psychiatric facility (his father is one Charles Xavier).
David soon learns that he isn't schizophrenic and is chosen for study and experiment by the government. The trailer shows him on the twisted journey to unlock and understand his powers, with the help of Syd (Rachel Keller) and Lenny (Aubrey Plaza).
Legion premieres on FX Feb. 18, 2017.
