Can't wait to get your Rogue One on?Watch The Heirs Online
You'll have another chance to glimpse new scenes from the upcoming movie, the very first Star Wars spin-off -- sorry, Star Wars story -- within a matter of hours. (For the movie itself, you still have to wait until December 16.)
SEE ALSO: 'Rogue One' international trailer offers a key plot twistAnother trailer -- the second official one, following the first in August and several teasers prior to that -- airs for the first time on Good Morning AmericaThursday morning, director Gareth Edwards announced.
Edwards made the reveal on Lucasfilm's in-house Star Wars Show. He also offered a new poster for the film, in which a ghostly Darth Vader looms over the shoulder of the movie's rebellious hero, Jyn Erso, played by Felicty Jones.
Those tropical waters at the bottom? That's the planet Scarif, a paradise planet the Empire has pretty much ruined to build ships and supply the Death Star. Is there no end to Imperial villainy?
Given how much we know about the movie already -- its focus on stealing the Death Star plans, the locations of Scarif and the Jedi pilgrimage world of Jedha, the fact that Forest Whittaker is playing a Clone Warscartoon character named Saw Gerrera -- fans are way ahead of the game compared to how little they knew about The Force Awakensthis time last year.
SEE ALSO: Darth Vader is back. Why do we still care?In fact, with this trailer, we may have reached the tipping point of knowing too much about the film. About the only mystery left? How much screen time the movie will give Vader.
So far, the galaxy's most infamous Sith Lord has had less than one second of trailer time.
