The Harry Potterauthor, who regularly changes her Twitter header, switched it Thursday morning to a cryptic painting: Still Life: An Allegory of the Vanities of Human Life.
"Don't you like it?" Rowling responded coyly when a fan asked her what prompted the new image. She went on to give precious little more information...

Among Rowling's current works are the fourth Cormoran Strike detective novel penned under pseudonym Robert Galbraith, and a second work about which little is known. Still Lifeis "essentially a religious works in the guise of a still life," and cautions the viewer not to place too high a stock in wealth and vanity. Each object has a symbolic meaning -- death, wealth, knowledge and so on -- which relates to many of the overarching themes in Rowling's works.
