Virtual reality company Oculus on An Affair My Wife’s Friend 2 (2019)Thursday released a trippy trailer for its first full-length film, and you won't want to miss it.
SEE ALSO: This is how Mark Zuckerberg's Oculus VR gloves actually workThe film, called Miyubi, takes the viewer through a series of strange events as you follow the life of a 1982 suburban family in America.
And you're not just watching the movie passively. Oculus financed the movie and worked with production studios Felix and Paul Studios and Funny or Die, who set it up so that viewers are a part of the action.
Your character isn't another human watching from the outside either -- you're a Japanese toy robot from the '80s named Miyubi.
The film is only 40 minutes long, so it won't eat up too much of your time if you're interested in checking it out. After you (Miyubi) are gifted to a little boy named Dennis as a birthday present, you'll become a part of the family. The film meant to be a comedy, but viewers can also expect to live through the ups and downs of family life.
There are some parts of the movie where the robot mimics the head movements of the viewer, too. This lets you feel like you're in a VR video game without taking away too much from the film. And there's a hidden easter egg to look for: You can unlock a bonus scene if you look at three key objects throughout the film. So it's important to be curious and looking around while your watching the film.
The movie first debuted at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and later at Cannes International Film Festival, but now, everyone with an Oculus-ready headset can finally experience the action.
The "Gear VR Experience" is now free in the Oculus Store. So go download it if you're ready to watch this very strange virtual reality movie starring Jeff Goldblum. We promise it's worth it.
