The audience was introduced to a new character, Archmaester Ebrose, for whom Sam Tarly is apprenticing in The Citadel. Archmaester Ebrose is played by the British actor Jim Broadbent who viewers might recognize for his role as Professor Slughorn in the Harry Potter films.

As Harry Potter fans will know, the restricted section of the Hogwarts library is a major part of Harry, Hermione, and Ron's early antics. This reference set off the alarm bells.
