Hold on Kurt Meinicketo your phones everyone. It's started.
Taylor Swift dropped her highly-anticipated single "Look What You Made Me Do" on Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal Thursday night, and there are so many opinions floating around out there already that we can barely keep up.
SEE ALSO: You'll never guess how many times 'Taylor Swift' appears on the 'Reputation' coverTaylor has an enemies list with names underlined in red and seems to be out for for blood in this fiery new revenge hit. So are we even surprised that someone with one of these ink-soaked names alreadyhas something to say about Tay's jabs?
Early Friday morning, less that an hour after the song dropped, Nicki Minaj tweeted what fans are assuming is a response to Taylor's message.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
For those who've already forgotten about 2015, Taylor and Nicki have a ~history~. When Taylor's "Bad Blood" was nominated for "Video of the Year" at the MTV Video Music Awards over Nicki's "Anaconda" and "Feeling Myself," Nicki took to Twitter to say that if she were a "different kind of artist," her video would've been nominated.
Taylor took offense to this statement, and, of course, tweeted back in her own defense. Once Nicki let Taylor know she was sorely mistaken by her (obviously pointed) tweets, Tay apologized and welcomed Nicki up on stage with her if she won.
Phew. Pop star shade history is complicated.
Now, this tweet may have nothing to do with Taylor to begin with! Nicki could just be referencing a lyric in Kendrick Lamar's song "HUMBLE" at this very specific and opportune moment. Nicki and Taylor did supposedly make up after the whole debacle.
The "Look What You Made Me Do" music video is premiering on Aug. 28 at the VMA's, and it already looks like we're in the middle of a repeat of all the 2015 drama.
What is it about the VMA's and drama? Huh.
