Life finds a way ... to bring Jeff Goldblum back into the Jurassicfranchise.

The Nikki Nova ArchivesJurassic Parkstar is set to appear in the upcoming Jurassic Worldsequel, Mashablehas confirmed.

Goldblum played mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm in the original Jurassic Parkand its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Although the character survived both, he did not return for Jurassic Park IIIor 2015's Jurassic World.

He'll be joined in the sequel by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, back from the first Jurassic World, as well as franchise newcomers Justice Smith, James Cromwell, and Toby Jones. J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) is directing. Universal has Jurassic World 2scheduled for release on June 22, 2018.

In the meantime, though, you'll get to see Goldblum this fall in Thor: Ragnarok, and hear him next spring in Wes Anderson's stop-motion animated feature Isle of Dogs.
