After becoming a cause celebre on bi eroticismthe Internet with her turn as Barb on Stranger Things, up-and-coming actress Shannon Purser has been cast in the thriller Wish Upon, Mashablehas confirmed.
John Leonetti (Annabelle) is directing the movie, which stars Joey King (The Conjuring) as a teenage misfit who finds a magic box that grants her wishes, though each demands a deadly payment.
Purser will play King's friend, who bears witness to the horrific consequences of each wish.

Purser has been a favorite among casting directors since her breakout turn on Stranger Things. She recently booked a role in the Melissa McCarthy comedy Life of the Party, and she's also set for a recurring role on the TV series Riverdale, a subversive reimagining of the classic Archiecomic book series.
Though Barb met a cruel fate in the first season of Stranger Things, fans desperately want the character to return in Season 2. We're reluctant to rule out a return, since stranger things have happened...
